Welcome.
My name is Charlie and I am an Integrative Counsellor for children, young people and adults. I am a registered, accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), adhering to their Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions.
In a world that is becoming more immersed in technology, we rarely take time to step back and focus on ourselves. I offer a safe, confidential and understanding environment for you to do just that through exploring the thoughts, feelings and actions that affect your day to day life. Whether you are looking for short-term therapy relating to a specific issue, or long-term therapy for ongoing problems that are impacting your life and relationships, I can help.
Common topics that can be addressed in counselling include:
As well as an established private practice in Greenhithe, I have also provided counselling for local and national mental health charities, mainstream schools and specialist resource provisions throughout Kent. I have experience in the specialised field of neurodivergence, particularly autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Working within Special Educational Needs (SEN), I am passionate about providing emotional support and advocacy in this area.
Working integratively means that I use a variety of theoretical models to best suit your needs. All sessions are built on the foundations of a strong, trusting relationship, established through honesty, acceptance and collaboration. Whilst a person-centred approach is at the heart of my practice, I will blend elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic theory, play therapy and concepts from internal family systems (IFS) depending on what works best for you or your child.
If you would like to discuss the idea of counselling further, please contact me.
