Welcome.
My name is Charlie and I am an Integrative Counsellor for children, young people and adults. I am a registered, accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), adhering to their Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions.
In a world that is becoming more immersed in technology, we rarely take time to step back and focus on ourselves. I offer a safe, confidential and understanding environment for you to do just that through exploring the thoughts, feelings and actions that affect your day to day life. Whether you are looking for short-term therapy relating to a specific issue, or long-term therapy for ongoing problems that are impacting your life and relationships, I can help.
Topics that can be addressed in counselling include:
As well as an established private practice in Greenhithe, I have also provided counselling for local and national mental health charities, mainstream schools and specialist resource provisions throughout Kent. I have experience in the specialised field of neurodivergence, particularly autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and am passionate about providing emotional support and advocacy in this area.
I am also acutely aware of the lack of knowledge, support and understanding surrounding pregnancy and infant loss. When working with these sensitive experiences, and any life-changing trauma, I am able to offer a bespoke service tailored to your unique situation because I know that each loss is personal.
Working integratively allows me to personalise therapy through using a variety of theoretical models. All sessions are built on the foundations of a strong, trusting relationship that is established through honesty, acceptance and collaboration. Whilst a person-centred approach is at the heart of my practice, I may also blend elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic theory, play therapy and concepts from internal family systems parts work (IFS) to best suit your needs or the needs of your child.
If you would like to discuss the idea of counselling further, please contact me.
